Gold Pebble can't wait for Hastings Fat Tuesday!

Gold Pebble is deeply rooted in Hastings, and we understand the significance of local events that contribute to the vibrancy of our community. Just as we celebrate the thriving cultural scene in Hastings, we recognise the pivotal role played by events like Hastings Fat Tuesday.

So we were thrilled when Hastings Fat Tuesday CIC (HFT) announced that, thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign and generous support from local businesses and East Sussex County Council’s Community Wellbeing Fund, the music festival returns for 2024. Read the latest news HERE or follow the link below for venues, events and artists.

As a proud supporter of our local community, Gold Pebble celebrates the efforts of Hastings Fat Tuesday, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to fostering opportunities for local artists, grassroots music venues, and the cultural economy of Hastings and St Leonards.

Hastings Fat Tuesday: A symphony of local culture and community energy

Music, being a cultural heartbeat, takes centre stage during this festival. With over 100s of free performances, the five-day event showcases acclaimed artists from the South-East and an array of talented local bands.

In the spirit of celebrating our Hastings roots and our collaborative nature, we’ve asked our team and the team from our sister company Goldstar IT, to share their current playlists and recommend some must-see gigs at Fat Tuesday. Join us in embracing the rhythm of our community and the richness of local arts and music.

Who’s sounds are Gold Pebble working to this month?

Paul’s all in with some disco and house

My tunes of choice for concentration and getting into the zone has got to be something like Purple Disco Machine. Their set at Tomorrowland 2022 was great, this is high up my YouTube playlist!

For Fat Tuesday I think I’ll check out KING SUNNY ADE P AND THE VIBES CONTROLLER, and catch the Balearic Assassins of Love’s AfterParty on the 13th at The Pig, 37 White Rock, Hastings TN34 1JL

Dean will be stayin’ up late on a school night for…

For sure, you’ll see me watching DUB GENERALS at REGGAE ROOM PARTY. Maybe I’ll see you too, on Tuesday 13th at EHSAA, The Stade, Rock-A-Nore Road, Hastings, TN34 3FJ

After checking the last train home, Taran’s going ‘Under The Radar’

I’m mainly listening to Drum and Bass at the moment. So I will try to check out MISS MELODY at Under the Radar on 10th Feb. It’s all emerging artists from across the south east so if you want to hear the next big thing head down to The Piper, 1 Norman Rd, Saint Leonards-on-sea TN37 6NH.

Rod’s a bit of an old rocker really…

My playlist is quite eclectic so as Gold Pebble are a data-driven, web development agency let’s look at my most played albums…

  1. Pearl Jam – Ten
  2. Clutch – Book of Bad Decisions
  3. Rival Sons – Great Western Valkyrie

And my pick for Fat Tuesday performances has to be The Curst Sons. Check them out on Tuesday 13th February, at 10pm, at Porters, 56 High Street, Hastings, TN34 3EN

Vicki loves some indie… and a bit of rock

Off the top of my head I’d go with;

  1. Pink Floyd – Dark Side of the Moon
  2. Coldplay – Rush of Blood to the Head
  3. U2 – The Joshua Tree

I think I’ll stick with some indie for Fat Tuesday. ANNA PAGE and her set for Unplugged Saturday at Heist, 22-26 Norman Road, St Leonards-on-Sea.

More relaxed acoustic music for David

While working I love listening to a familiar track but as an acoustic cover. Something like this Spotify playlist.

Fat Tuesday is going to be more acoustic for me. King Size Slim on Unplugged Saturday, 10th February @ The Carlisle, 24 Pelham St, Hastings TN34 1PE, UK

Some serious house, drum and Bass, dancehall and dub for Aminah

I’ll be heading down to the East Hastings Sea Angling Association on Tuesday, 13th for Mad-X

Hosted by MIGHTY SOUNDS and the DUB GENERALS from 8 pm, at EHSAA, The Stade, R

Some serious house, drum and Bass, dancehall and dub for Aminah

This will be my first Fat Tuesday and I’ve been recommended to go to the FAT TUESDAY TOUR. The main event – with twelve venues hosting 24 established acts, playing 20-minute sets in 3 venues each. I’ll head to Jenny Lind, 69 High St, Hastings TN34 3EW, for 8pm on Tuesday the 13th and start things off with LOST REVELLERS!

Being Hastings-based and deep in the community we are looking forward to getting involved and having some fun over the Fat Tuesday weekend! We love to work with local businesses who share the same drive and focus as the team at Hastings Fat Tuesday. If you do too, who knows maybe we’ll be at the same gig next week!
